The adhesive that came with my GPS to mount it on the dash isn’t sticking. what else can I do?
I did as the instructions said,I cleaned off the spot where I wanted to mount the stand. when I applied the mounts base the adhesive on the bottom of it didnt stick at all. It was barely sticky at all. Heck scotch tape was stickier!
what other way could I mount it without using crazy glue?
Clear silicone. Put a small amount on the mounting surface, then quickly place the GPS on it and tape it tightly with masking tape to hold in place while the silicone cures. After a few hours, remove the tape and everything should be OK. This method allows you to remove the GPS at any time without messing up the dash or GPS. The silicone can be removed by sliding a strong thread between the dash and GPS and “sawing back and forth”, then just scratching off the residue with your fingernails. (That’s if you decide to get rid of the car, later on).
